Dear Diocesan Family:

Heightened by the financial exigency rapidly brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, a Diocesan restructuring has been undertaken.  

Since May 27, 2014, the Diocese of Laredo has been blessed with the services of Mr. Romeo Rodriguez, Jr. as Chancellor.  Having fulfilled his term as Chancellor, Mr. Romeo Rodriguez’s employment with the Diocese will conclude on September 16, 2020.  I have met personally with Mr. Rodriguez and expressed on behalf of the clergy, religious and faithful of the diocese my sincerest esteem and gratitude for his service to the Church.  Mr. Rodriguez expressed his continued support for the Diocese of Laredo.  

I have appointed Father Francisco Quiroz as Chancellor of the Diocese of Laredo effective Thursday, September 17, 2020, for an initial term of 5 years.  Father Quiroz has accepted this new responsibility with humility and a sincere desire to faithfully serve the clergy, religious and the faithful of the Diocese of Laredo.  In addition, and effective that same date, Father Quiroz is also appointed Moderator of the Curia. While accepting these additional responsibilities, Father Francisco will retain all other assigned ministerial duties and responsibilities.  

I ask your prayers for Mr. Rodriguez and for Father Quiroz as each move forward to a new phase in their life.
