CDA Awards Scholarships

Monday, August 24, 2020

The Catholic Daughters of Americas, Court Isabella the Catholic #683, was proud to announce that the members voted to award academic scholarships in the amount of $500.00 to each of seven deserving graduating seniors locally. Seniors who are related to present members and who have a GPA of at least a 2.5 were eligible to apply for the scholarship. Selection of the candidates was based on being a practicing Catholic, active involvement in the church community and a written essay addressing the topic: “It is very important for one to be close to God. A way to achieve this is by being involved with the Church community.”

Court officers decided to acknowledge the accomplishments of all applicants due to the emotional journey each has endured with the pandemic. This is an important milestone for each student. Court Isabella's Court Regent is Ms. Elva Medina and the Scholarship Coordinator is Mrs. Maria Teresa Hinojosa.
