Diocesan-wide Novena

Friday, May 29, 2020

Bishop James A. Tamayo invites all of us to pray a Novena with him from March 29 through Saturday, June 6th, when parishes will reopen for Mass. United as one Diocese, we pray the Novena lifting up our individual intentions in the silence of our hearts. We pray, too, in thanksgiving for all of our priests who have continued to offer livestreamed Masses for all throughout the Diocese of Laredo. We pray for the safety of all the faithful who will return to Mass, and for the continued protection of at-risk parishioners who remain at home and continue to be united with God through acts of spiritual communion.

O Mary, full of grace, Patroness of this nation and Mother of the Church, in this time of illness and worldwide need we seek your intercession for the human family before your Son’s throne of grace and mercy. We ask for strength in adversity, health in weakness, and comfort in sorrow. Help us, O Blessed Mother, to be filled with confidence and trust in the tender compassion of our God.

St. Augustine, patron saint of the Diocese of Laredo, pray that we may have a more fervent desire to receive our Lord in the most Holy Eucharist or through regular acts of Spiritual Communion.

We pray together in the words Christ taught us:

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

We ask this together through Christ, our Lord.

Amen.
