On April 2, 2019, Pope Francis’ latest apostolic exhortation was published. As always, the name of the exhortation, Christus Vivit (Christ is Alive!), comes from the first several words of the document in its Latin edition. The exhortation is addressed to both young people and the entire people of God, and relies heavily on the reflections and conversations that occurred as a part of last year’s Synod on the Youth, which had considered the age group from 16 to 29.

My dearest brothers and sisters in Christ:
Reflecting on 2018 with immense joy and thanksgiving, the Diocese of Laredo celebrated its 18th anniversary. Your stewardship of time, talent and treasure throughout this period significantly impacted the diocese, marking an enduring legacy for generations to come. It is through your generosity that the Catholic Church will continue to minister the love of Christ to the people living in the seven counties within the Diocese of Laredo.
The Diocese of Laredo is facing a humanitarian crisis due to the number of migrants being released on our border. Catholic Charities - Diocese of Laredo has been informed by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol (BP) that the number of migrants being released in Laredo, will increase dramatically in the coming days and weeks. ICE and BP will start transporting migrants, not only from Eagle Pass and Del Rio, but also from the Rio Grande Valley area.
Every Wednesday during Lent, from March 13 through April 10, 2019, confessions will be available at each parish in the Diocese of Laredo at 7:00 p.m.
Why should I go?
Jesus deeply desires a personal, daily relationship with each one of us that we may live know the love of the Father and live in his peace and grace forever. Sin, sadly, chips away at the relationship we have with the Lord. Jesus wants to mend our relationship with him through the sacrament of confession. He is just waiting for us to say "Yes" to his call.
