Parish Announcements

Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, January 24, 2021
1.This Sunday, the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, Catholic Church around the world celebrates “Sunday of the Word of God”, a special day instituted by Pope Francis that inspires us to give proper attention to God’s Word in the Holy Bible, in our daily habits and in our relationship to God. May this day inspire us and renew our good habits of reading and living with the Word of God, even if it is a matter of two minutes a day, or once each week, reading the Sunday readings ahead of time. We will have a commitment and blessing your personal Bible you brought to this Mass. 2.Last Friday, January 22, marked the dark anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decisions Roe vs. Wade which removed the legal guarantee of the right to life and protection of the unborn children in the U.S. As Christians, Catholics, we have an obligation to name abortion for what it is, regardless of what the larger society may say. Scientific and technological advances have erased all doubt about whether pre-born life is human life. It is a baby. When a woman is expecting, no one goes to a “fetus shower,” they go to a “baby shower.” It is not a potential human life. It is a human life with potential. Please continue praying for the legal protection of the unborn children and for the end of abortion. 3.Parish calendars for 2021 are available in the church, you are welcome to take more than one for your family, friend, or neighbor! 4.The 2021 offertory envelopes are still available at the west entrance of the church. Please make sure you take your box of envelopes home. This year we can also mail it to you, just call the parish office at 722-1231. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONTINUING SUPPORT AND COOPERATION! Stay safe and healthy by God’s grace!
