Over 20 members of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas St. Jude Court at St. Joseph Catholic Church assembled about 500 "Thank You" bags for hospital staff who are working tirelessly during the COVID pandemic. Typically, members of the court gather when working on a project, but each has worked individually at home to follow social distancing guidelines and remain safe. The bags included healthy snacks, prayer cards and a thank you note for the frontline medical heroes. Members of the St. Jude Court distributed this token of appreciation at Doctor's Hospital, the Laredo Medical Center and the Laredo Specialty Hospital.

In regards to this act of gratitude, Zulema Ramirez, Regent of the St. Jude Court, explained: "We want to thank doctors and other medical professionals for their hard work and service, as well as to let them know that we are praying for them." Zulema said she and the members wanted to provide quick and energizing snacks to doctors and nurses who are often working long hours without many breaks. "We want to offer hope during such a trying time, and we are already planning our next service project," Zulema eagerly remarked!
