The Family Life Office of the Diocese of Laredo is happy to once again organize the annual Life Chain. It will be held on Respect Life Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 2pm-3pm.

Individuals participating will spend the hour praying for all those who have been hurt by abortion, all of the lives lost to abortion and for an end to this horrific act. Participants will peacefully hold up signs as they form a "chain" along the sidewalks that run down McPherson Road beginning at where it intersects with Hillside Road.

 

KHOY's annual radiothon will take place from Monday, October 17th - Friday, October 21st with a special focus on the Holy Family. Laredo's only Catholic radio station invites the community to continue lending their support. During the week of the radiothon, call in or drop by to share why you enjoy listening to KHOY 88.1 FM! 

Donations may be made in person, over the phone, or online. 

 

Bishop James A. Tamayo attended a conference in Nuevo Laredo with other bishops from Texas and Mexico, who live in or near border cities. The bishops met over three days, from September 2-4, 2022, and they celebrated Mass together at Santo Nino de Atoche Parochial in Nuevo Laredo. During their time together, they also had a chance to visit Casa de Migrante's shelter in Nuevo Laredo that assists primarily migrants from Haiti.

The Diocese of Laredo celebrated it's 22nd Anniversary on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Bishop James A. Tamayo, celebrated Mass at San Agustin Cathedral at noon, along with Father Francisco Carrizales-Quiroz, Chancellor of the diocese, and Father Iden Bello, Pastor of San Agustin Cathedral and Judicial Vicar of the diocese. 

The St. Jude Court #2363 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, has been active all summer. Activities and events have included awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors, gathering for a Bible study with guest speaker Carlos Rene Ramirez, welcoming new members and installing new officers. Most recently, members of the court assisted in "running the kitchen" at St. Joseph Church in Laredo. Most ministires at the parish, including the Young Knights and the choir, take turns cooking food to sell after Mass on Sundays. The profit earned directly benefits the parish. The St.
