El 7 de octubre se celebró en el templo de Nuestra Señora del Rosario en el sur de Laredo una solmne misa oficiada por el Padre Leszek Waclawik, anterior párroco de la parroquia asistido por el Padre Wojciech Kosowicz, sacerdote jubilado que reside en la parroquia. El párroco, el P. Stodola estuvo ausente por motivos de salud.
La fiesta conmemora el 450 aniversario de la Batalla de Lepanto que fue una batalla marítima que ocurrió sobre la costa del sur de italiana en la cual las fuerzas cristianas tuvieron que enfrentar fuerzas superiores del imperio otomano que pretendían apoderarse de Italia. Durante la batalla el Papa Pío V exhortó al pueblo fiel a rezar el santo rosarion. La victoria fue contundente y en acción de gracias el Papa declaró que el día de la victoria sería dedicado a Nuestra Señora del Rosario.
Antes de la misa se realizó una procesión con la Virgen peregrina siendo portadores de la imagen la cofradía del Santo Rosario.
Después de la misa se realizó una escenificación de la entrega del Santo Rosario a Santo Domingo en el siglo XII realizada por los jóvenes, y como de costumbre el rosario viviente en donde los mismos niños forman las cuentas del rosario.
Conforme a las normas y disposiciones de Sanidad la venta de antojitos mexicanos se hizo al aire libre observando la sana distancia.
Nuestra Señora del Rosario está ubicada en 420 Sierra Vista Blvd en la colonia Los Obispos en el sur de Laredo y cuenta con unas mil familias.

Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church celebrated the feast of Our Lady on the 7th of October. A procession took place with the image of the Pilgrim Virgin being carried by the members of the Brotherhood of the Holy Rosary, followed by a solemn Mass officiated by Father Leszek Waclawik, former pastor of the parish. He was assisted by Father Wojciech Kosowicz, a retired priest who resides at the parish. The pastor, Father Stodola was absent due to poor health. The Mass was followed by the presentation of the play in which St. Dominic is portrayed receiving the holy rosary in the 12th century. Afterward the living rosary was prayed in which the children themselves formed the beads of the rosary. Afterwards, following the guidelines of the Diocese of Laredo and the health officials, food sales were held outdoors while keeping safe distance.
The feast of Our Lady of the Rosary dates from the year 1571. The Ottoman Empire had attempted making an incursion westward to take over the entire peninsula of Italy. The Dominican Pope Pius V raised a navy among the Catholic leaders of Europe and the Battle of Lepanto occured at sea. Notwithstanding their inferior forces, the Christians were victorious. The Pope had encouraged the Christian faithful to pray the holy rosary throughout the battle and he attributed the victory to Our Lady. The 7th of October was proclaimed the day of Our Lady of the Rosary in thanksgiving for the victory. This battle saved Christianity in the western world.
Nuestra Señora del Rosario is located at 420 Sierra Vista Blvd. in the Colonia Los Obispos on the south side of Laredo. It is composed of about 1000 families.
