Help support the humanitarian efforts on our border

Friday, March 22, 2019

The Diocese of Laredo is facing a humanitarian crisis due to the number of migrants being released on our border. Catholic Charities - Diocese of Laredo has been informed by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol (BP) that the number of migrants being released in Laredo, will increase dramatically in the coming days and weeks. ICE and BP will start transporting migrants, not only from Eagle Pass and Del Rio, but also from the Rio Grande Valley area.

We ask that you join us in prayer as we ask for God's blessing. Together, we will extend a helping hand to our brothers and sisters in need. As a result, the following donation platform has been set up to assist us in aiding the coming asylees and refugees. Your gifts support the humanitarian relief efforts of hope and compassion for our fellow pilgrims on their journey of life.

As prepared as we are, there is still a dire need for our community to come together at this time by collaborating in our humanitarian efforts. Among our most pressing needs are volunteer support and financial assistance. Other donations needed include used phones, food, snacks, water, juice, travel and full size hygiene products, towels, blankets, and finally a washing and drying machine. Donations can be dropped off at the CCDOL office located at the corner of Cedar Avenue and Fremont St., 1919 Cedar Ave., Laredo, TX 78040. If you are interested in joining our group of volunteers, please call our office at (956) 722-2443.
