Resignation of Bishop Guillory of the Diocese of Beaumont

His Excellency, the Most Reverend James A. Tamayo, informs you that today, June 9, 2020, the Holy Father has accepted the resignation of Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD from pastoral governance of the Diocese of Beaumont and has named Msgr. David Toups as the Bishop of Beaumont.  Bishop-elect Toups currently serves in the Diocese of Saint Petersburg (Florida). His episcopal ordination is scheduled for August 21, 2020.

 

On behalf of our diocesan family, Bishop Tamayo has congratulated Bishop Guillory on his retirement and extended best wishes to Bishop-elect Toups on his appointment and offered our prayers and support for his new ministry.
